Duties

1) Keeping abreast of recent developments in the academic field to enhance teaching and research activities within the department.
2) Implementing the security and safety requirements established by the university to provide a suitable working environment within the department.
3) Teaching in the field of specialization.
4) Providing academic guidance to students and providing them with information related to the specialization.
5) Participating in department and college council meetings and engaging in the activities of internal and external committees as requested.
6) Contributing to scientific research, providing scientific consultations, and attending conferences and scientific seminars in the field of specialization following the established rules.
7) Contributing to quality assurance activities in academic aspects in accordance with assigned tasks.
8) Contributing to community service by participating in seminars and workshops and preparing studies and research related to community issues.
9) Any other tasks assigned in the field of work.

Requirements

General Requirement for Faculty Positions:

1- The applicant must have a good conduct and behavior.

2- The required qualification for appointment must meet the following:

· It must be obtained on a full-time basis, not through distance learning, online education, or blended learning.

· It must be equivalently approved by the specialized authority in the Sultanate if obtained from a non-Omani higher education institution (only for Omanis).

3- Proficiency in using information technology.

4- Priority will be given to those with experience in university teaching and scientific research.

5- Applicants are allowed to apply for one position in each college.

6- When sorting applications, the terms, conditions, and procedures stipulated in the executive regulations of Sultan Qaboos University Law and the appointment regulations for Omanis in academic positions at Sultan Qaboos University will be applied (https://jobs.squ.edu.om/instructions.pdf).

Requirements for the Demonstrator Position:

1- Holding a Bachelor's degree with a cumulative GPA of not less than (3) out of (4) points or its equivalent, or a cumulative GPA of not less than (2.75)، provided that the GPA is not lower than (3.3) in the last (60) credit hours in the major or its equivalent. The degree must be obtained from a top-tier institution within the top (50%) of higher education institutions, based on the QS, THE, or Shanghai university rankings in the year of graduation.

2-Proficiency in spoken and written English, meeting the minimum English language requirement as follows:

· Scoring (6) in the IELTS exam or its equivalent in the TOEFL exam if the applied major is taught in English.

3- Being a graduate of the academic year in which the announcement is issued or the previous two years.

4-The applicant for the demonstrator position should not exceed the age of (26) years at the time of announcing the position.

Applications are allowed for the following specialties: Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy or Islamic Sciences, and Bachelor of Education degree specializing in Islamic Education, Arabic Language, English Language, Science, and Mathematics.
