General conditions for teaching faculty positions:
1. The applicant must be of good conduct and behavior.
2. To have the following qualifications for appointment:
- It must be issued on a regular basis, and not be in the system of affiliation, distance education, or blended education.
- It must be equivalent by the competent authority in the Sultanate if it is issued by a non-Omani higher education institution (Only for Omani).
3. Proficiency in using information technology effectively.

Applicants applying for the position of lecturer must:

- Should have a master’s degree in Economics
Priority is given to those who have experience in university teaching and scientific research. When the applications are sorted, the terms, conditions, and procedures contained in the Executive Regulations of Sultan Qaboos University Law and the Regulations for Appointing Omanis to Academic Jobs at Sultan Qaboos University will apply.
Other requirements:
1. Obtaining a bachelor’s degree
2. Obtaining a master’s degree or its equivalent with a cumulative grade point average of no less than (3) from a (4) point system or its equivalent.
Higher education institutions within the top 50% of higher education institutions, based on (QS) or (THE) classification or (Shanghai) for universities in the year of graduation.
3. Proficiency in the English language, spoken and written, and meeting the minimum English language requirement in accordance with
- (7) in the IELTS exam (or its equivalent in the TOEFL exam), if the specialty applied for is a language English.
- (6) in the IELTS exam (or its equivalent in the TOEFL exam), if the specialty applied for is taught in English.
- (5) in the IELTS exam (or its equivalent in the TOEFL exam), if the specialty applied for is taught in the Arabic language.
An exception to the provisions of this clause applies to applicants for positions in the Islamic Education and Arabic Language specializations.
