Duties

  • Teaching 
  • Supervision students. 
  • Participation in the committees at the department / college / university and society.
  • Contributing to the enrichment of studies and research in specialization in international scientific journals (individual / collaborative).

Requirements

Qualification

  • PhD or equivalent in the specialization (Quran and its Sciences). 
  • All academic degrees should be awarded by universities recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman.
  • All academic degrees should be in same specialization.
    • Bachelor (same specialization)
    • Master (same specialization)
    • PhD (same specialization)
  • The candidate’s study of his degrees should be as full time.
  • Applicants to Assistant Professor positions who have certified experience in teaching and research are given priority over their counterparts.
  • Has sufficient published articles in peer-reviewed international Journals in the field.
  • Has supervised a sufficient number of MAs and PhD students.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written Arabic and English.
  • Has a leading character that enables him to develop the department

 

Experience 

  • Candidates applying for Associate Professor posts must have at least 5 years of experience in university academic teaching in his/her specialization after obtaining the PhD.

 

Required Documents

  • A recent photo and a copy of valid passport.
  • Certificates of the bachelor, masters, and doctorate degrees along with transcripts. 
  • Abstracts of published articles in refereed journals for the last 3 years.
  • Employment letter issued by the current university of the applicant stating the courses taught for the last 5 years.
