Duties

Teaching German as a Foreign Language levels A1 and A2 (CERF)
Teaching online, blended and class room teaching of groups;
Setting up Moodle courses and integrating e-teaching methods into curriculum;
Creating and adapting culturally appropriate material for tourism purposes;
Composing testing and examination materials that are contextualized for tourism and hospitality;
Advise undergraduate students and track students’ progress over a three-year program;
Liaising with German-speaking institutions in Oman;
Organizing extra-curricular activities to promote the German language; and
Assisting in organizing summer training in Germany

Requirements

Master degree teaching DaF (or older equivalents, or Germanic Studies with additional studies for teaching German as a foreign language)
Native fluency in German language;
Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a recognised higher education institution;
Competencies in using modern teaching technologies and methodologies
Cultural awareness for teaching in an Arab country;
Demonstrated command of Germany’s tourism, culture, education and economy; and,
Very good English communication skills.
