Duties
Applicants should demonstrate excellence in teaching and research. Successful candidates are expected to:
- Teach both undergraduate and postgraduate level courses.
- Supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate projects.
- Engage in scholarly research activities leading to publications in refereed international journals.
- Play an important role in research, curriculum development, graduate supervision and attracting research funding.
Requirements
The minimum requirements for the position are:
- Qualification: BSc in Chemistry and PhD in Inorganic Chemistry with mastery of the fundamental principles of inorganic chemistry including molecular symmetry, magnetism and inorganic spectroscopy. Candidates with a proven track record of excellence in research in the specialization fields of Catalysis (with a good background in organometallic chemistry), Inorganic Materials, Solid-State Chemistry or Main-Group Chemistry, and conversant with XRD techniques, will be preferred.
- Teaching Experience: At least 2 years of teaching and research experience in a recognized academic institution. Postdoc experience for at least one year is a requirement. All teaching in the department is in English.
- Scholarship: Research contributions must be demonstrated through publication in international peer-reviewed journals.
