Duties

  • Contribute to curriculum development and teach courses related to his/her area of specialization, as well as courses in marine sciences at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including but not limited to Marine Ecosystem Modeling, Coral Reef Ecology, Marine Pollution, Invertebrate Zoology, physics for Marine biologists.
  • Attract and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Conduct research in his/her area of specialization preferably in the areas of marine pollution, coral reefs, and fisheries, and publish scientific results in high-impact peer- review journals.
  • The candidate is expected to obtain local and international grants and work as part of an interdisciplinary research team and conduct joint research in his/her field nationally and internationally.
  • Provide university and community service to the general public and official institutions through public presentations, field demonstrations, technical training, extension, and workshops.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualification is Ph.D. in marine sciences or a related field.
  • Significant experience (minimum 3 years) in research, teaching, and development of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as supervision of students.
  • An established record of successful grant applications and high-quality peer-reviewed research publications.
  • A keen interest in relating to complementary research in the Department.
