Duties

Applicants are expected to:

  • Actively participate in research and scientific activities of the department.

  • Advise students academically as per university policies and regulations. 

  • Teach and mentor medical and postgraduate students, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of Behavioral Sciences in the medical context.

  • Deliver engaging lectures and interactive seminars that adhere to the WorldFederation for Medical Education curriculum on Behavioral and Social Sciences, Medical Ethics, and Jurisprudence.

  • Conduct research in the field of Behavioral Sciences, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and medical practice. 

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the Behavioral Sciences curriculum.

  • Provide guidance and support to students, promoting their personal and professional growth.

  • Engage in academic activities such as publishing research papers, attending conferences, and participating in faculty development programs.

  • Serve in the department, college, and university committees.

  • Provide, as appropriate, professional services to the University and community.

Requirements

Applicant should:

  • Hold a Ph.D. or equivalent qualification in the fields that fall in Behavioral Sciences.

  • Have evidence of at least five (5) years of teaching experience, three (3) of which must be post-Ph.D.

  • Hold an academic rank in a recognized academic institution that uses the English language as its primary medium of instruction.

  • Expertise in Behavioral and Social Sciences, Medical Ethics, and Jurisprudence.

  • Familiarity with the World Federation for Medical Education curriculum

  • Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to different kinds of students and colleagues.

  • Teaching experience at the university level probably in the medical education setting.

  • Strong research background with a record of scholarly publications.

  • Preferably speaking the Arabic language.
