General conditions for teaching faculty positions:
1. The applicant must be of good conduct and behavior.
2. To have the following qualifications for appointment:
- It must be issued on a regular basis, and not be in the system of affiliation, distance education, or blended education.
- It must be equivalent by the competent authority in the Sultanate if it is issued by a non-Omani higher education institution (Only for Omani).
3. Proficiency in using information technology effectively.
4. Priority is given to those who have experience in university teaching and scientific research.
5. Apply for only one position in each college.
6. When screening applications, the terms, conditions and procedures contained in the executive regulations of the Sultan Qaboos University Law and the regulations for appointing Omanis to academic positions at Sultan Qaboos University will be applied.
:Specific Requirements
- PhD in Literature from a recognized university
- Specialization: Digital Literature/Popular Culture
- PhD study program should be full-time. Part-time, online, or blended study programs are not accepted
- Relevant teaching experience
- Good record of published research in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent skills in using technology in teaching
In case the applicant is Omani, the applicant must satisfy the following conditions:
- Applicant must have a master’s degree in the field of literature
- Applicant must have a PhD in the field of literature.
- Specialization: Digital Literature/Popular culture
- Degree must be:
- Full-time, not online, not blended education.
- From a higher education institution whose classification is no less than that of Sultan Qaboos University, or be among the best three higher education institutions in the Sultanate based on the (QS), (THE) or (Shanghai) for university ranking in the year of graduation.
- Approved by the competent authority in the Sultanate if it is issued by a non-Omani higher education institution.
5. Applicant must have relevant teaching experience at a recognized university after the PhD.
6. Applicant must have a good research record of papers published in peer-reviewed journals.
7. Applicant must have experience in teaching and supervising postgraduate students.
8. Applicant must have excellent skills in using technology in teaching
9. Applicant must submit a minimum score of (7.5) in the IELTS exam, or its equivalent in the TOEFL exam.
10. Applicant must not exceed (50) years of age, at the time of this job announcement.
