General requirements

1. The applicant must be of good conduct and behavior.
2. The following must apply to the “qualification”:
   • It must be issued on a regular basis, and not be in the system of affiliation, distance education, or blended education.
   • It must be equivalent by the competent authority in the Sultanate if a non-Omani higher education institution issued it (Only for Omanis).
3. Proficiency in using information technology effectively.
4. Priority is given to those with experience in university teaching and scientific research.
5. Apply for only one position in each college.
6. When screening applications, the terms, conditions and procedures contained in the executive regulations of the Sultan Qaboos University Law and the regulations for appointing Omanis to academic positions at Sultan Qaboos University will be applied.

Specific requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Plant Sciences/Crop Sciences
2. MSc degree or its equivalent in Entomology with a cumulative grade point average of not less than (3) out of a (4) point system, or its equivalent and issued by a higher education institution in the top 50% of higher education institutions, based on the QS classification or (THE) or (Shanghai) for universities in the year of graduation.
3. Proficiency in spoken and written English and meeting the minimum English language requirement according to the following: (6) In the IELTS exam or its equivalent in the TOEFL exam.
4. The age of the applicant for the position of Lecturer must not exceed (40) years when the advertisement is published.
